  • Update #1

    Ah man.

I was supposed to start typing almost 2 hours ago..

But then it got all Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs

    …baddum psshh…

See what I…see what I did there??!!

    Lame joke. Good movie.

Anyways. Welcome to Reluctant Hero’s first blog post. I’m Daniel.

This 2013th year has been super busy for the 5 of us dudes..and 1 lady as of February! Welcome to the family, Lysa! It ain’t easy doin what we do, but we love it so it’s worth it. First of all, thank you all so much for your continued help and support and encouragement. Our collectively creative collaboration would not be what it is today if it wasn’t for you.  Just a quick update on what has happened this year, what is happening right now, and what is about to go down!

    Jan 1st - March 25th

We had been working on solidifying a track list for our All As One EP. Tracking pre-production late into the Oxnard city nights. Practices were tough. Talking and working through the music. Discussing funding for our project. Let me preach for a sec: Before you see a profit, you gotta pay a cost…monetary or not. It’s that reaping and sowing concept. We paid it but not entirely by our own strength. I don’t know that we’ll ever be able to sufficiently express our thanks to those of you who donated money out of your own pockets to help us pay for tracking, mixing, mastering, printing, traveling and every other little thing that helped us push this new CD out. It brings out the truth of the album title: All As One. In and out of the studio we went. (Check the studio updates on our YouTube page!) Mid February: Enter Lysa. Nashville girl has drive to say the least. Woman with a plan and a list which has no end. Thank goodness for that. Without vision, you dead. We have goals. Some of which we just recently accomplished, others which are currently in the process of. Speaking of recent happenings:

    March 25th - Right Now

If you haven’t already, go buy the EP on the itunes monster…i mean machine..i mean…same thing. Check us on ReverbNation http://www.reverbnation.com/#!/reluctanthero and get it there OR check out true-indie.com n support the independent move. http://true-indie.com/artists/?band=40 It’s actually cheaper than itunes. I work at a bank ;) I’m here to save you money. Feel free to buy me a cup of coffee sometime with those savings. I run on the stuff…unfortunately its 1145pm n I’m halfway through a cup of the goods right now. I make it dirty too, so… Goodbye sleep. Our CD release party was last Friday at Rock City in Camarillo, CA. What’s there to say about it? This was the first CD release party I’ve ever played so I have nothing to which I can compare the feelings of that night. It was about Reluctant Hero that night which was a new thing for me. I had fun. Thank you all who came out! Many more good times to come! New shirt designs are out and available for order through our Big Cartel profile which you can get to through our ReverbNation page. Tee’s, tanks, hard copies of the All As One EP…it’s all there n it’s a party.

    Coming up!

April 12th we play with an internationally recognized band: Army Of Freshmen. The fellas are heading out on tour to the UK n wanted us to help them kick it off with a party at Bombay’s in Downtown Ventura! See you there! Ventura Rock Picnic is June 8th. We’ll see you there as well! It’s all ages and ITS FREE! We are heapin up on the blueprinting n game planning. Actually, this Friday, Tyler, Lysa n I are gettin together to get heavy into it. Should be good! We’ll keep you guys posted. More videos, photos, posts and RH Updates coming SOON! …I won’t be the only one posting…I don’t think.

That’s all for now. Stay classy. Don’t be selfish: spread the good word :) it’s for everyone. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. We appreciate it!
